A pilot holding a Club Pilot (PG3) Licence with 3-5 years of experience whist flying at Ma On Shan at approximately 12-1400hrs on Monday 6th of October 2014.

The conditions at the time were reported to be Variable with a E wind blowing approximately 16-20kph. The temperature was 30-34deg C with Some Cloud and Slight Haze Visibility.

There were reported to be 1 pilots at the site.

Event Description:

HKCAD received a complaint from public and other sources about a paraglider flying and landing in the vicinity of KAI TAK airport. Helicopter ops at the HK Aviation Club were suspended whilst this pilot was above the zone. The paraglider involved was spotted by the Macau helicopter staff and others.

Committee Response: (if any )

6 NOV 2014 The pilot concerned has communicated the the safety officer regarding this event. Thus far the HKCAD have not responded with their intent in this investigation. In communications with the HKCAD they have advised they are in communications with the HK Police regarding the event and have photos and videos they are working with. More updates as they happen. The committee STRONGLY RECOMMENDS that this flight is NOT REPEATED.
